À propos de Musée Middelheim

Le Musée Middelheim à Anvers est un lieu unique où l'interaction surprenante entre l'art et la nature donne lieu à des expériences uniques. Le musée en plein air dévoile l'art moderne et contemporain dans un parc verdoyant. Des œuvres d’Auguste Rodin, Henry Moore, Rik Wouters, Isa Genzken, Chris Burden, Ana Mendieta, Jean Katambayi, Barbara Hepworth, Bruce Nauman, Germaine Richier, Pascale Marthine Tayou et bien d’autres, vous font voyager à travers plus de cent ans d’art visuel.

Chaque année, le musée invite des artistes de renom ou au talent prometteur. Loin du « white cube » qu’incarnent les salles de musée, les artistes interagissent avec les possibilités infinies que leur offrent le parc et la collection existante. Une approche qui les inspire à concevoir des œuvres sur mesure pour le Musée Middelheim. Le musée collaborait déjà avec Berlinde De Bruyckere, Kapwani Kiwanga, Camille Henrot, Ulla von Brandenburg, Jeremy Deller, Sammy Baloji, Michel Francois et bien d’autres.

Le Musée Middelheim, qui compte environ 400 000 visiteurs par an et dont l’entrée est gratuite, est une porte d’accès à la sculpture moderne et contemporaine pour jeunes et moins jeunes, des amateurs de nature aux experts en art. Culture et loisirs vont ici de pair.
