Sobre Middelheimmuseum

Het Middelheimmuseum is een unieke instelling waar het verrassende samenspel tussen kunst en natuur voor bijzondere ervaringen zorgt. Het openluchtmuseum toont moderne en hedendaagse kunst in een groene parkomgeving. Stukken van onder meer Auguste Rodin, Henry Moore, Rik Wouters, Juan Muňoz, Panamarenko, Chris Burden, Dan Graham, Ai Weiwei, Roman Signer… geven een uniek overzicht van meer dan honderd jaar beeldende kunst.

Jaarlijks nodigt het museum gerenommeerde of beloftevolle kunstenaars uit. Los van de 'white cube' van een museumzaal gaan zij in interactie met de eindeloze mogelijkheden van de parkruimte en de bestaande collectie. Dit stimuleert hen tot nieuw werk op maat van het Middelheimmuseum. Het museum werkte al samen met o.m. Berlinde De Bruyckere, Wim Delvoye, Yoshitomo Nara, Paul McCarthy, Chris Burden, John Körmeling, Erwin Wurm...

Met jaarlijks ongeveer 300 000 bezoekers is het gratis toegankelijke Middelheimmuseum een laagdrempelige toegangspoort tot moderne en hedendaagse beeldende kunst, voor jong en oud, van natuurliefhebber tot expert, kortom iedereen die wil leren over, zich wil laten inspireren door, of gewoonweg wil genieten van beeldhouwkunst in een prachtig museumpark. Cultuur en recreatie zijn er optimaal samengebracht.
